ACM Planning Committee Minutes June 5, 2024

Reflect on the last ACM

Good discussion overall. Having question prompts worked well. Reflecting back what was said helped people feel heard. A lot of different feedback at the last ACM. Not a single clear path forward. How do we measure success in the changes we make to ACM? We may try things that don't work. Can't please everyone all the time.

ACMNeed Ideas:to get away from the either or mentality of building relationship building or business. We should be doing business in ways that build relationships.

Could we try some things that are drastically different? Some ideas:

  • work ACMs (CH cleaning, yard work). Relationships are built through working together.
  • collaborative culture workshop
  • cohosuing.org videos & discussion
  • Could we delegate more decision making to committees and reduce the amount of business that needs to be done at ACMs? Would require some larger structural changes in how we run the community.

Different people facilitate differently and that's ok. 

We are trying to plan ACMs further in advance and are asking people to come to ACM planning meetings before we put their topics on the agenda. So far, it sounds like people are reacting positively to this change and are appreciative that we're approaching ACMs more intentionally.

HelpfulIt's been helpful to have ACM topics in the wings and planned in advance.
