SLC Sustainability MIcrogrant- deadline March 3, 2024

We are considering applying for one or both of two grants offered by the City's Sustainability Office.  This 2-year-old microgrant program has been awarded $50,000 to support resident- and community-led projects that address food inequity and increase access to fresh, healthy, affordable, and culturally relevant food in Salt Lake City.

  • Home Food Production Grant - $250
  • Community Grant- $5,000

Seed Starting/Plant Pot Cleaning PARTY:
February 11, 2024 @ 1-2:30 PM

Help set up the lights, heating pads, create soil brownie blocks, and clean sacred pots  Seeking 4 folks! Please RSVP and contact Alex. alexandra.d.parvaz@gmail.com or text 801-946-7847

If unable to make the party,  help with tending seedlings at times that conveniently work best for you!  Contact Alex


Things to Finalize:
  • Secure date to begin shaping new beds with a combination of tiller, and broadfork power.  Sometime late March/ early April?
  • Plan out next seed starting days for other cool weather and longer-season crops.   -Schedule day for planting outside peas ~ late February or early March.
  • Schedule a work party with Celia and Kevin to help trim back their Elm Trees
