Dog run/East orchard water

4 plum trees, one cherry tree (cherry tree is struggling after years of water issues)

Sprinkler system, not drip. Would like to convert system to drip

Trees have 1/4" emitters set up, would like to change this to 1/2 " o-rings

One possible strategy for converting from sprinkler to drip:

"Instead of replacing the broken head, we swap it out for a pipe-thread-to-tubing converter, and run 1/2" tubing to the nearest tree(s) to feed the emitter tubing rings.  That way, the trees have water as we work our way along converting the rest of the sprinklers.  The new drip system runs from the underground PVC, rather than off the piece of tubing that we would have to find where to connect.  With the main line underground, the system has less vulnerability to weed whackers. " Per Kay email to Kellie 5/2020,

Another option about possible conversion:

"The main problem with running a drip system off of the already installed system is that the pressure is likely too high. (Alex tested the spigot out in the north field and it came up at 108psi. If the pressure is anything like that, then we will rupture our drip lines.

There are a couple options we can use to trouble shoot that.

One- dig a box to the current line and put new valves with a pressure attached to create drip system.
Second- we can use the current equipment but attach a bubbler system that can take higher water pressure." Per Kierstin O'Flaherty (former resident) 5/2020
