Changing the On/Off Schedule or the Clock Time of the East Carport Light and Site Light Timers

  • a flat-bladed screwdriver

    • the times of sunrise and sunset

The carport lights should turn onON after sunset,sunset and before dark and offOFF after dawn,dawn and before sunrise.

Sunset and sunrise shift about a minute a day for six weeks before and after the equinoxes. From Groundhog's Day to May Day, and from the first of August to Halloween, reset the timer every two weeks to keep the on/off times atwithin twilight. 

The timer may stay at the same setting for six weeks before and after the solstices. 

Step-by-StepLocation Instructionsof Controllers

The light control boxcontroller (timer) for the east carport is on a post at the south end of the east carport.end. Unscrew the panel.panel; Be careful not to dropset the screws into the mulch (3/8" 10/32 machine bolt). Set the screws inside the controlbox. box while you work.

The control box for the site lightslight controller is in a metal box on the wall of the common house inner officeoffice.

Instructions

The screen shows the weekday and time, either OFF or ON, and time, either OFF or ON, and AUTO. Buttons say MODE, ENTER, OVERRIDE, and DAY, HOUR, and MINUTE.

Press MODEAUTO. You may change the setting to manual control if the lights must stay off or on all the time.

Press MODE again.twice. The display says CLK. ResetIf necessary, reset the current time ifand necessary.press ToENTER to save the change, press ENTER.change.

Press MODE a third time. The display says SCH. Adjust the ON time (p.m.) with the HOUR and MINUTE buttons,buttons. andSee pressthe tables for suggested times. Press ENTER to save the change.. Adjust the OFF time (a.m.) and press ENTER. 

Press MODE a fourth time to leave programming mode.

If already past the time the lights should have come on or turned off, press OVERRIDE to change them manually.

Replace the cover. The cover must be taken off regularly, so tighten the screws gently just until snug.

Timing

Each day for six weeks either side of the equinoxes, spring sunrise and fall sunset times get earlier by about a minute; fall sunrise and spring sunset times get later. The suggested times allow for two weeks of creep while keeping on/off times within the periods between sunset/dusk and dawn/sunrise. 

Spring

During the spring, ON is 20 minutes after sunset. OFF is 20 minutes before sunrise. Sunset
