LIFE IN COMMON
Cohousing is unlike a typical condominium association, and in many respects, unlike most American neighborhoods. By choosing to live here, we choose to participate in ongoing projects of building community.
This project challenges many of the attitudes and beliefs common to urban living. We seek to cooperate, rather than compete, with each other toward a healthier, saner, and more joyous lifestyle.
Everyone who lives at Wasatch Commons is expected to participate in group processes, maintain individual and common property, and respect WaCoHo customs.
Through participation, we grow in understanding of each other as individuals and as part of a collective process. Through the care of our common property we come to value and recognize the benefits of "owning" more than just our individual homes.
YOU CHOOSE US
So how do you decide if cohousing is right for you? Get to know us! Come around the Commons and talk to as many people as you can. Ultimately, we don't choose you, you choose us.
When you buy or rent a unit at Wasatch Commons, you're choosing more than your individual home, you're choosing a lifestyle. Before you buy, make sure that cohousing is the right lifestyle for you.
Before you buy,
- Attend at least one All Community Meeting (ACM). Contact Vicky Wason for meeting times.
- Come to a least one potluck held each Sunday at 6:00 pm.
- Come to other community activities! We have regular social, educational and political events here at the Commons.
