Community Calendar

Use the calendar for wasatchcommons@gmail.  We've had problems with events being scattered between calendars. Nobody currently in the community is the owner for calendarwasatchcommons@gmail.com (possibly belongs to Becca). Stop using it; in fact, delete it from your google calendar.

Ben sent an email with a link that will add the calendar to your google calendar.

Everybody experiment with adding it to your calendar (mostly on phones); the people who got it help those who are having trouble.  If added to your google calendar on one device, it will be on other devices as well.

Continue to put things on the paper calendar.

Fund Raising

Two events coming up.  It's up to us how big they are.  We haven't used them in the past for fund raising, so we will want to talk about whether that's something we want.

The Welcoming and Fund Raising Committees have mostly the same membership and have kind of merged.

May 4, National Cohousing Open House.  For now our notice on the national cohousing open house page says 10:00 to 12:00.  This is not the conference; there isn't an online national event.  Each community participating is doing its own thing.

We don't expect to have any units for sale this year.

Lynda will keep cafe open longer so people can start there.

Brainstorm:  Rummage sale outside.  Snacks. Tours. Work party such as planting trees.  Raffle off a night in the common house. "May the Fourth be with you."

25th anniversary

Fund Raising/Welcoming is currently thinking about an event on Saturday September 28 or Sunday 29. Celebration for us, for former residents, for interested people, We had events for the 10th and 20th anniversaries.  Decide what we want to do and pick a date.  We want to hand out Save The Date cards at the open house.

Events for kids, kids craft area, barbecue, lawn games, group picture, food committee, band or DJ or music, sell cookbooks, raffle, silent auction, flowers, art work or silk painting for sale.  Giant bandaids to request donations for specific needs.  Accessibility.

Most people seem to prefer Saturday.

Good Deeds for Donation.

When a resident needs something done that they might normally hire out, if someone in the community can do it, they could donate a payment to the community.  Up to whoever is involved, no pressure, this isn't meant to supercede doing things for each other with no expectations as neighbors for favors or trades, or to people doing jobs tor money which they keep.

Raised to date, $1,884.48, largely from Hannah selling donated items.
