Landscaping walkthrough notes 10/28/23
In attendance: Vinnie, Kellie, Coleman
Purpose: To assess broken branches in the wild area and west berm for safety, and determine which branches we have the ability to hand in house and which we will need to hire out for.
DISCLAIMER: We're not saying every branch/tree noted here is imminently going to be taken down. We're still following committee procedures, just noting feasibility/priority when that does happen.
Point of discussion: For the areas of the west berm that are city property, are we within rights to remove branches/dead trees? If one of the elm branches falls on someone's car on Utah St, who is liable?
(Forgive these crude mark-ups.]. Each pic contains a name of the person who lives closest, for reference, and if necessary a marking of the tree/branch in question)
Behind Emilie's unit:
Large, overhanging branch with dead wood. Possibly able to do in house.
Behind Mary and Kay's unit:
Large and small branches that are dead/need removal. See the "wishbone" branch, which is detached from the tree but hasn't fallen to the ground yet. Able to do in house.
Deceased tree between Ben and Vinnie and Eliza's unit, could remove in house:
Right on the Border of Mary's property, in the wild area:
Overhanging branches that could be handled in-house. Who is responsible for these trees?
East lot:
Next to unit 25, could handle in house:
WEST BERM:
Several dead branches overhanging the parking lot. We could do this work ourselves, however, the parking lot would have to be clear of cars for an entire day.
Near unit 1, large branch overhanging:
Behind the duck pen, large branches overhanging the fence we share with a neighbor to the north of us:
