ACM Planning Committee Minutes Feb 5, 2025

Feedback/reflection from prior ACM

A lot of great feedback about our values statements. Values are somewhat verbose and many would like to see them simplified. 

Planning of Upcoming ACMs

Group-based decision making is a core part of cohousing, and is often a form of consensus. We aren’t looking to get rid of consensus, but to explore what’s working and what’s not in our current governance model for community members. Consensus has been around for a long time, and there are a lot of ideas about how to do it.

We aren’t looking to make any specific decisions or change anything, we’re just asking for feedback. If the community wants to explore other governance models or methods of consensus, we may explore those, or we may sticks with our current governance model.

• Follow up to Vision & values feedback
• Consensus & Decision Making
  • Consensus is a term that means many different things.   
  • pluses & deltas
    • What’s working well for you in our current governance model?
    • What would you like to see us do differently?
• Educational ACM about the proposal process. When is a proposal appropriate?
