PAY OR PLAY REVIEW (Coleen and Ben)
- Review of consensed policy and on-line reporting.
- Coleen transfers info to spreadsheet, to make tracking past hours easier. Please use correct email
address. - If using paper, rather than online form, submit to Coleen.
- Online section for using past overage hours if needed. Ben demonstrated this feature.
* Potential for fine tuning the process in the future as needed, via proposal.
SEARCHABLE COMMUNITY DATABASE
(Ben demonstrates on screen)
On Wacoho website, there is a link to Wiki. Here is a place to put minutes from meetings, consensed
decisions, how-to videos, committee info, and more.
- Info is organized by "books" with Chapters, subheadings, etc.
- Searchable by keyword, date, subject
- Template for each committee book, to easily submit their mission statement, members list and minutes. Active committees should fill this out ASAP.
- Institutional knowledge preserved
- New residents get a better understanding of what committees do, and where they might like to participate.
This is currently hosted locally by Ben. Free to community, unlimited storage. Downside is access if internet is down at Ben's, or he is unable to access for some reason. Currently backed up, so it can be moved at any time, if preferred.
Ben demonstrated how to log on. Requesting a password reset will generate a link to then set your password. Contact Ben for assistance.
Q. Is this at cross purposes existing Google group conversations? Do we stop using Google group and switch over?
A. No. The conversations continue to provide running history of the ideas, exploration, etc. but the Wiki will be a repository for documents, decisions, etc.
Q. Rather than copy and paste info into Wiki, can we upload nicely formatted pdf instead?
A. You can, but this will limit searchability of document. Documents can be uploaded and copy/pasted, to preserve formatting where it is helpful
+++ BREAK (7:55-8:05) +++
RECYCLING REVIEW (Beth)
There are two different types recycling bins. The round-lidded can from SLC, and the square-lidded can from ACE. The types of plastic that can be taken by each company differs. If you put an item in a can of hat the particular company does not handle, it contaminates the lot and must be taken to the dump.
To avoid this, Beth proposes dedicating the SLC container for all plastics (as it can accept a wider variety of plastics, not just bottles and jugs) and using the other recycle bins for the rest of the recycling, not plastic.
Because there is only one bin for this wider range of plastics, it can be a problem for those who do not live near the side where this bin resides.
Q. Can we just get another round SLC bin for the other side?
A. No, because they do not offer service to condos. Hans has provided this bin for our use but it is affiliated with one of his residential properties.
Helpful additional info:
Square ACE bins- Monday Evening for Tues morning pick up
Round SLC bin- Wednesday Eve for Thurs morning pick up (same as brown yard waste bins)
* Ace's number is on the side of the can. Call them if they missed the pick up.
* "Waste Team" created. Volunteers include Beth, Linda R, and Alex, who will explore all challenges, including glass. Coleen to take pics of bins and chart what each can accept.
