Maintenance Minutes : July 25, 2023
Attendees: Vinnie, Kerry, Kay, Jorge, Robin, Joe, Lila, Cheryl
Topics: Maintenance priorities, upcoming maintenance work parties, landscape committee meeting schedule
- Stucco assessment/repair
- We need to go around the property, take pictures of stucco issues, and upload pictures to folder on google drive (I need to get the name of this folder from Vinnie and update notes).
- Goal for 2023 is to patch all known stucco cracks.
- Tree stumps
- We have purchased hammer drill and auger to drill 5/8" holes in tree stumps, 5/8" wooden dowel rods, acid (70% vinegar), and safety equipment (eye protection, gloves, respirator)
- Plan is to drill holes in tree stump, fill with acid, then plug holes with pieces of dowel rod.
- First stump to try this on is the stump between Units 18 (Cheryl) and 20 (Alex). May also attempt it on dead tree in dog run. Vinnie said there a couple of other stumps we can try this on.
- Drilling + acid application will happen 7/29
- Need to remove tree suckers from stump before 7/29
- Dumpster enclosures: Clean, repair, and linseed oil
- On 8/11, we need to sweep the area within and around the dumpster enclosures
- On 8/12, we will pressure wash and assess the condition of the boards in the dumpster enclosures.
- 4 people needed on 8/12
- When this is complete we will know how many boards + what hardware is needed to repair the dumpster enclosures.
- Vinnie says replacement boards are $4 each
- We also need to get a 5 gallon barrel of linseed oil - Kay says we can get this at Lowes.
- Brushes are also needed; ours are not in great shape.
- On 8/19, we'll replace boards and apply linseed oil
- Team of 4 or 5 needed for linseed oil application of each enclosure
- Red Curb painting + "No Parking" indicators in east and west lots
- Robin and Kerry have volunteered to take this on but need a) equipment and b) help prepping
- East lot curb: Curb will be painted red from Cheyenne to the east garden area; north side only
- West lot curb: I need to double check with Robin; I'm not clear what's being painted
- East lot between Lynda's parking space and workshop: "NO PARKING" indicator + diagonal hatch pattern in white paint.
- Equipment needed:
- Red elastomeric paint for curb
- White elastomeric paint for "no parking"
- small rollers
- stencils (Kay thinks we have some here, but need to verify)
- Schedule
- 8/11 sweep the curbs and lot by Lynda's/Cheryl's parking spot; dig out the dirt behind the curbs
- 8/12 pressure wash curb and lot; wait for curb and lot to dry
