Action Items

Cheryl, Jorge, and Kay will meet with Justin at the insurance office in Kaysville Friday at 2:30. Meet there.

Cheryl will email Kay and Jorge the address for the insurance office.

Financial - Learning QuickBooks

Jorge spent three hours with Linda learning about the books. Cheryl & Kay would be interested in short sessions to learn how to view the accounts, understand them, or run reports.

Solar Panels

RMP installed the new transformer yesterday. Cheryl called Gardner to let them know.  They will come back with RMP  to turn on the panels; because of RMP's schedule it may be two or three weeks before they get the panels turned on.

Some of the money for the battery that wasn't available went to purchase the transformer upgrade and about $10K was refunded.

Stumps

Alex got bids (not submitted to Management, ignoring the Large Spend Process) from about six companies on stump grinding.  Diamond was a lot more expensive than anyone else.  Two companies suggested Steve's Stump Grinding; they subcontract stump grinding to them.

The stumps include the cluster on the path between Cheryl and Alex and otherwise are in the back yards of the south side.

The property company Scott works with grinds to 8" below grade, paints the remainder with a chemical to discourage resprouting, and hauls away the chips.

Play Structure

Management's impression is that the Parents Committee would be okay with keeping the common house play structure except repairing and making it safer. Some residents want it to be a lot safer.

This year's budget doesn't have any funds for repairing/replacing the structure. We want a cushion in the checking account for when bills need to be paid before fees come in, but it doesn't need to be as big as it is; it's a matter of how much the community wants to devote to the play structure. Because the money comes from money that wasn't spent in previous budget years, it isn't included in the current year's budget (a title company objected to us doing that). Management agrees that a proposal will be needed.

The people on the Parents Committee don't have a lot of time to do research and are reluctant to come up with something they want and be told it's too much money.  OTOH, it's a community decision; it would help to have a range of maybe three options, minimal, deluxe, and in between.
