Supplemental Management Meeting, July 29, 2025
[This meeting was necessitated by Michael being out of town on the scheduled meeting date of Tuesday, August 5]
In attendance: Ben, Michael, Kerry, Cheryl

Moderation tools and audit logs in Discord
-    Recent ACM involved conversation about the use of moderation on our Discord server. Some management members are concerned that this means the proposal regarding the adoption of Discord is unlikely to reach consensus.
-    Transparency of audit log could be one way to overcome these concerns
-    Lack of facilitators for ACM makes discussions that are contentious even more difficult to manage
ACTION: Audit log transparency will be added to the proposal about Discord

Outside facilitator for ACM 
-    Kathy Elton is available to facilitate the ACM on August 13 for a fee of $300 (one hour of prep time, plus two hours of the meeting)
-    Cheryl would like a notification to go out to the whole community that the next ACM will have an outside facilitator
-    Management has the option to allocate remaining funds from the operating account at year end, which could be used to cover facilitation costs
-    Cheryl feels that the facilitator herself could potentially help answer the question of why outside facilitation was deemed necessary
-    Facilitating the meeting where his own proposal is discussed presents a conflict of interest for Ben
-    Kerry feels that the presence of outside facilitator could generate positive energy and participation at ACMs, as well as learning in general
-    Ben wants a space where concerns can be raised about Discord openly, questions can be asked, support can be offered, and then next steps
-    Kerry feels differently, that prescribing outcomes is less important than helping with relationships and communication
-    Kerry wants everyone to be aware that things may require patience
-    Cheryl asks what happens if consensus isn’t reached about Discord because it has already gained momentum among regular committee participants
ACTION: Management reached consensus to hire Kathy Elton to facilitate next ACM on August 13

Suggestion of a budget review at ACM 
-    Community member submitted a request to discuss WaCoHo balance sheet 
-    Kerry would like an update on the amended 2022 tax returns because there may be interest accruing on the amount we owe (if any) 
ACTION: Ben will contact bookkeeper (Rachel) to provide monthly balance sheets; Management will then review and potentially go over balances in ACM
